"(v.4) To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, (v.5) Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. (v.6) Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. (v.7) Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner," (1 Peter 2:4-7).
Here in these verses the Lord Jesus Christ is mentioned as being "precious" three times. It is no exaggeration to say that Christ is precious. What a simple and profound truth from the Bible, "He is precious." This truth resonates in the heart of every believer. If you have nothing in you that readily acknowledges the fact of the preciousness of Christ, then the problem may be one of not being saved, see also 1 Cor.16:22. Having been saved from sin, death, Satan, and Hell, it is no wonder why Christ is precious to His saints.
