End of Feb. update:
We praise and thank God for a great module week at Cornerstone Baptist Church and Cornerstone Baptist Ministerial School in Quezon City under the leadership of Dr. Jed Raquintan, Pastor. Dr. Thomas Strouse was able to instruct students on Book 2 of Psalms (Pss. 42-72). Dr. Raquintan was able to teach Amos. I am working on my 200 page dissertation as the final step towards a Doctorate of Ministry degree.
We will miss our dear sister in the Lord, Sis. Elena. She went home to be with the Lord on Mon., Feb. 3. The Lord allowed me to speak at her burial and I gladly presented the good news of Jesus Christ to her family and friends who were gathered around the cemetery. We do ask that you would continue to pray for her relatives and friends for both comfort for their loss, but also conviction from the Holy Spirit about their future appointment with death and judgment to follow.
We are praying for opportunities to open up for an evangelistic outreach in a village that is about 65 miles south of Metro Manila in Candelaria, Quezon province (not to be confused with Quezon City). We know of a precious husband and wife that would like to see a Biblical Baptist church planted in their village (Bro. and Sis. Guillas). They have been faithfully attending our Sunday services since November of 2024. And we believe this is our next challenge to plant a work in their village.
Our Sunday church ministries are carrying on well: The children's Sunday School and Teens Class and Adult Class are well attended. The Teens are learning about the Pauline Epistles this semester, the Adult Class just finished the book of Joshua - 11 of them passed their final exam and received a wonderful Bible study tool as a gift. They are now learning about the book of Judges. On Sunday morning, Bro. RJ is preaching/teaching through the book of Haggai, on Sunday afternoon, I am teaching/preaching through the book of Matthew. On Wed. nights we are going through the book of Proverbs (having finished Job). I praise God for raising two Godly and Biblically qualified men to help fill in for me since I have gotten sick with a terrible cold - Bro. Kenneth is working through the book of 1 John and has been preaching/teaching that when he gets a chance to speak. Bro. RJ has covered some great topical studies on laziness and on suffering.
We are praying that I may wrap up our new Bible Institute course: New Testament Survey. I am working at finishing a couple more lectures, and finalizing a re-print of a text book for the class. Please pray that our people would add this to their daily Bible reading and study for their edification. Some are taking it for credit (this is a 3-credits course for those who enroll and do the work required of the class). I am hoping this week to hear from the publishers to finish the text book re-print for the students.
I am also hoping to hear back from a different printer concerning our latest order for our Gospel tracts: The Way to Eternal Life - this is a bi-lingual Gospel tract (English and Tagalog) so that the readers are without excuse. I am told that the publishers just need to finish printing and then they will be able to ship it to us. We are excited to have Gospel tracts which we use all the time.
Please pray for our upcoming 8th year ministry anniversary on March 30. We do have a special guest speaker (Bro. Dan Tessin) and his wife (Sis. Raquel) who will minister to us on that special Sunday. We desire to see souls saved and disciples made. Please pray for their safe travels, health, and power as they minister to our people and potential guests.
Sincerely,
Bro. Bill
